Novel Coronavirus – Operation Update

China Operation

According to China’s Central and Local Governments’ directive to extend the 2020 Lunar New Year holiday, all PIL China branches will comply accordingly and most offices will be closed till 10th February 2020, while Wuhan and Wenzhou offices will only resume operation on 14th and 17th February respectively, if the situation permits.

However, PIL China branch offices will continue to operate with minimal disruptions as staff will be on duty during 3rd February 2020 - 10th February 2020. Please refer to the attached Staff On-Duty list for the respective branches in China.

In view of the public holiday extension, PIL will grant special exemption policies for foreign trade cargoes exporting and importing to mainland China, i.e. all LINE Detention & Demurrage fees incurred during the period from 24th January to 9th February 2020 will be waived.

All China Custom offices have also resumed operations since 3rd February 2020.

Other Network Operation

Some ports have announced quarantine measures while other ports may start implementing additional precautions against the Novel Coronavirus outbreak. As such, operational delay may be expected.

We are closely monitoring the situation and are working with our customers and partners to reduce the risks and minimise disruptions. PIL is fully committed to ensuring the health and safety of our employees, crew and other stakeholders, which remain our utmost top priorities.
