PIL Announces Its Entry to the Black Sea

As the Far East - Black Sea trade has witnessed a strong and sustained growth over the past years, Pacific International Lines (PIL) of Singapore and Wan Hai Lines (WHL) of Taipei are pleased to announce the launching of the Far East to Black Sea service commencing from end November 2007.

Initially 4 vessels of about 2800 TEUs capacity will be deployed to provide a fortnightly service and by mid-February 2008 the service will be fully manned with weekly sailings. PIL will provide 4 vessels and WHL will provide 3 vessels for the joint service.

The port rotation will be as follows :

Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Singapore - Port Said - Istanbul - Constantza - Illichevsk - Jeddah - Singapore - Shanghai

The new Far East - Black Sea service promises reliable and efficient connections from the Far East to the Black Sea with a transit time of 19 days from Shanghai to Port Said and 22 days to Istanbul. With the Black Sea service, both PIL and WHL are able to leverage on their existing networks covering Asia, Europe and USA to provide comprehensive services.
