PIL flies Singapore flag at China International Import Expo (CIIE)
16 November 2018

Pacific International Lines (PIL) was prominent at the recent China International Import Export (CIIE) which was hailed as a great success with more than 3,600 businesses from over 172 countries participating.

Held in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the event, signalling the advent of the Chinese economy in a global marketplace. Belt and Road initiatives rank high on its agenda as China aims to open up its doors and accelerates economic globalisation for the world.

PIL formed part of the Singapore contingent under the Singapore Business Federation(SBF) showcasing its logistic service offerings such as PIL Logistics and its China – Singapore Nanning International Logistics Park (CSILP) located in Nanning Guangxi. Led by Mr S.S. Teo, as SBF Chairman and Executive Chairman and MD of PIL, a team from the PIL group was on site to meet and greet with guests from all over the world.

As a committed supporter of BRI, PIL is greatly encouraged by the outcome of CIIE and it provided an opportune time to reconnect with colleagues and friends in the industry, fostering relationships and exploring business opportunities.

Plans for next year’s expo is already under way by the organisers.
