PIL Enhances Imara Express Service with Direct Connections to Mombasa and Dar es Salaam

Following the announcement in August 2026 to launch its Imara Express (IMX) service, Pacific International Lines (PIL) is pleased to unveil an enhancement of this new service by introducing a butterfly network configuration with two dedicated loops, IM1 and IM2. This enhancement provides weekly direct connections to two of East Africa’s most important trade gateways — Mombasa, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The enhanced IMX is designed to support the growing demand along the corridor by offering improved network versatility, wider cargo reach, and seamless access to regional markets. By combining the strengths of the consortium partners, the service delivers an optimised network solution with enhanced vessel deployment, consistent service frequency, and strengthened coverage for customers trading between India and East Africa.

The first sailing of IM1 and IM2 will commence from Nhava Sheva, India on 24 September 2026 and 23 September 2026 respectively.

Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Dar es Salaam – Nhava Sheva

IM2 (Mombasa Gateway)
Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Mombasa – Nhava Sheva
